This is a discussion about バス停

Around the city.

I learnt from minna no nihongo many years back that 'eki' was the word for that specific place where you catch any mean of transportation. I just leanrt that there is word basutei to refer to that place where you can catch the bus. Does this apply to a taki stop?

駅 is a train station. Often there is also a bus stop next to it, or taxis waiting, depending on how big/busy the city is. バス停 literally just means bus stop. There is also the word 停留所 which can denote a bus stop and/or a tram stop. If you want to refer to a taxi stand, going with タクシー乗り場 should be fine.
