I'm a bit confused by your question. Kanji are a way of writing Japanese. They essentially have nothing to do with spoken Japanese, unless you want to write down what someone has said.
Additionally, kanji are distinct from Japanese words, and as such are usually not very useful in isolation. In the event that a word is made up from a single kanji, it's still important to distinguish that from the kanji as a concept.
