It's expected behavior. If you scroll down to the bottom of the definition you will see "Other forms":

This is indiacting that the word in this definition can be written 通る but also 徹る. This makes no indication of how common it is to do so, but there's no such info in Jisho sources afaik.

Bug or working as intended?
I searched for "徹" and while it came up under kanji the main display seemed to be displaying something completely unrelated. (通る)

If I hadn't already basically known the definition of both words (just looking for clarification) I wouldn't have noticed the results showed "通る". I would have just blindly read the wrong definition and moved on
Is that the expected behavior?
