Also since there are no half-width hiragana, half-width katakana is often used for words that would usually be written with hiragana. If the searchbox could accept half-wirdth katakana, it should probably bring up search results it as if it's hiragana as well as katakana

Great idea! I'm adding this to my todo list. It should be fairly easy to accomplish so hopefully I can get to it early in 2017.

Half-width kana in searches?
Would it be possible to make it accept half-width katakana input? Half-width is used quite often in subtitle files and it would be handy to be able to copy and paste it direct the dictionary rather than re-typing it. E.g. トースター gets no results but トースター does.
